i have some acne that will not go away. i used to use salylitlic [sp] acid or something like that, now it doesn't help at all anymore. i cannot use anything with benzoyl peroxide because it drys out my skin too much. i don't know what else to try, everything is either too strong or not strong enough and i also have sensitive skin. what would work for me?
by the way, don't say proactive. it's too strong.Acne.....?
i think you should just use proactive and get a good lotion so ur skin wont get as dried outAcne.....?
Get a facial. They really work. Theyll let you know what to do for your skin and tell you what to use to make your skin clear all the time.
LIVE WITH IT!
rosacea. you might have it.
look it up, stop putting nasty crap on it.
educate yourself
there is alot more than acne that happens to skin.
really, I don't know why people are so ignorate about their own skin, its not that complicated!
stay away from lanolin, alcohol, fragrance, drying soaps,
oil of olay for sensitive skin to wash, MAYBE something for acne, and a toner for sensitive skin.
go to your doctor, he can either prescribe something or refer you to a dermatologist seen as your skin seems to be so sensitive!!!!
in the mean time try toothpaste on each spot (just a small blob) before you go to bed and leave it on tell morning, then wash it off, but dont pick it off!!
good luck!
oh, and just a quick bit of general advise on skincare!
under no circumstances, should you ever, ever use a foaming cleanser, always use a creamy cleanser, the foaming one takes away too much oil, dry's out your skin an causes the oil (sebaceous )glands to go into overdrive and give you oily skin!
dont use an exfoliator either, just use a wash cloth/face cloth to wash your face, that will exfoliate it enough, and i find it works even better that an exfoliator!
make sure you drink plenty of fruit juices or water!
and dont touch your face if possible, it spreads germs and blocks pores!
good luck!
You have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution.

You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. While you're waiting for your skin to clear, remind yourself that acne is a challenge that you will overcome soon. Once you're rid of it, tell all your friends how you did it. That's what I'm doing. God Bless.

Mix (1 tsp) honey with 1/2 (tsp ) of cinnamon powder and leave it on the skin for 15 minutes.I found this facepack
very effective for my acne prone skin. I came across a lot of simple and natural remedies for treating and preventing acne at http://acxe.info
Maybe you should try using Proactiv, and instead of using the 'dime size amount' of lotion they recommend, use way more. Enough that your skin won't dry out.
Proactiv used to dry out my skin, but I just used more lotion to keep it moisturized.
different things work on different peoples skin, you could try tea tree oil or lavender oil to calm the skin and your pimples,
wash your face twice daily, keep your fringe and hair off your face as much as possible.
for me different products work at different times, i find witch hazel has generally been the best http://www.witchskincare.com/products.as鈥?/a> i use the foaming wash three times a day and the expholiating gel wash about three times a week (using it too often will make your skin more greay and prone to spots) and the witch stick is perfect for quick treatments to calm blemishes, i like to use this before i go to bed and leave it on over night.
as for scars, i dont get any deep scaring with witch! but i do like to use http://www.boots.com/shop/product_detail鈥?/a> no7 from boots, if you buy it at the right time you can save a lot of money (they have 3 for 2 atm!) and that covers any light scars and blemishes and it doesnt effect my skin, even if i forget to take it off at night!
i find the best was to prevent scars is to just avoid temptation to pop or touch the pimples, if you are tempted, try washing your face. i find it helps stop the urge!
