Since the 6th grade I've had pretty bad acne. Lately its gotten better but, I still think its pretty unattractive. What is the easiest, and most inexpensive way to get rid of my pimples for good? How can I get rid of acne without spending a lot of money?
A soap with salycilic acid in it. Any pharmacy will sell this over the counter. It shouldn't cost more than $4.00 and then get yourself some Noxema. It helps to replace some softness to your face the soap strips away and it calms your skin with the menthol in it.How can I get rid of acne without spending a lot of money?
Drink 3 liters of water a day. Keep yourself well hydrated and don't wear makeup at all. Try not to eat greasy food. Eat raw fruits and veggies. Exercise early in the morning and again in the evening for at least one hour. It's hard to do but it's a lifestyle change. Get the juices flowing, get rid of toxins and keep well hydrated. Taking a multivitamin for women will also help. As for products, neutrogena makes a glycerin bar for around 2 or 3 bucks. Then use an astringent (any will do) and the use an oil-free moisterizer (any is good). Be religious about this morning and night. Be sure to exfoliate and use a mud mask once a week. Any will do fine here too.
i've been free from acne since i started using a product called beautiful skin. you should check it out!
Vitamin e is good for the skin. I know people who take vitamin e supplements, as well as use facial mositurizers that contain vitamin e and that has seemed to work. But the most important part is to have a consistent skin care routine.
Clean and clear has an excellent line of face products. They have a face wash that is specialized for acne. Dove also has an excellent line of skin care products for your face. Their products will run about $5 each, so its relatively inexpensive. So get yourself and acne face wash, blemish control and a moisturizer, and you should be good.
Also some people say drinking more water is good for the skin.
Buy Natures Cure, they have it at walgreens, it is like $10 and works really well
Proactive Solution, it looks pretty good. Even Jessica Simpson uses it(does her? Or it's just a commercial?)
hi. start by having a good face cleaning using products that are not harsh - i personally use cetaphil products (you can get this at wal-mart). make sure to always moisturize your skin after cleansing. drinking more water is always a help- try it to believe it!
if that doesn't work, which i'm sure it will, consult a dermatologist. if you can't afford any meds s/he prescribes, see if they are willing to give you an abundant amount of samples that will at least last a month so you can begin to see the difference. i'm an advocate of differin gel - it really works. i've heard okay things about proactiv. avoid lots of make-up and wearing hear in your face as well.
good luck and drink lots of water!!
Use Olay Deep Cleansing face wash if you have oily skin. If you have dry skin, use Olay Moisture Rich Cream Cleanser. They worked wonders for me. Also, get Clean %26amp; Clear benzoyl peroxide gel. If nothing is working for you, the best thing is to go to your doctor for some stronger stuff. It will only cost about $10 - $20 for the product when you get it at the pharmacy.. if you have insurance.
I am a 26 year old woman who has had acne since i was 12.I have tried Clearasil,proactiv($20,but doesn't work),plain soap, the toothpaste thing, everything.I went to the dermatologist,he gave me creams, gels medication, nothing has worked.I bought a tanning bed and started tanning and that does help alittle but I don't recommend it to everyone because of the risks. I had a baby two years ago and my acne got worse.I went to my gyno and we had found that it could be a hormonal problem.I have had 1 test and found that my hormones are alittle messed up.I think you should go to your gyno before a dermatologist and talk it over with them before spending any more money on products.
I would suggest Acne Free it is more milder than Pro Activ. Acne Free is about $ 20 for the set. You see results from Acne Free in 4 days, with Pro Activ you see results amybe in 4 months or longer. I did not care much for Pro Activ. I highly recommened Acne Free. It doesnt dry your skin out like Pro Activ. Good Luck. You will like the results Acne Free gives you
Prooxyl. About $10 a bar that lasts 4 months.
Acne absolutely hates chlorinated water ... try spending a few hours a week in a swimming pool... those pesky zits will dry out soon enough !
cleasial its not cheap but i will get rid of spots in three day and when the spots go down then stop using it and when the spots come use it again and so and so xxx
Stop eating candy and anything with sugar in it...like Coke! Buy St. Ives apricot scrub to clean the face really good, then use Sea breeze to get all the dead skin off, and buy Vaseline Lotion to hydrate your skin. All of this will cost about $10.00. And, drinks at least 8 glasses of water...this is the most important step...it helps flush out the impurites in your skin!
you should see a dermatologist to help with the acne...sometimes it is hormones that causes you acne.
I've heard that proactiv is excellent, but I don't know if it's cheap or not. Forget it, I just checked it is expensive.
I suggest going to a doctor, they will give you a prescription to a good product that is right for your skin type. I used to have the same problem, although i was a little bit older, but still...I would recommend seeing a doctor.
you can clear your face up for free..drink LOTS and LOTS of water..helped me..
put tootpaste on your acne..it will dry it out and eliminate it
i started getting acne around that time. im now 34 and still get acne. but usually around that time of the month. nobody taught me how to take care of oily skin, because nobody had it on my moms side. through trial and error, ive finally mastered the technique. its not going to be cheap. here goes: first make sure you wash your face twice a day with an antibacterial facial wash. nuetragena is a good product. (try not to touch your face or pick). next, im sure you have oily skin, acne and oily skin go hand in hand. oily skin needs a oil control lotion. i use aveeno for acne prone skin. we tend to want to dry out our oily skin and that just makes more oil which causes acne. next, drink alot of water. water cleans out our system. exercise is great for the skin as well. it circulates the blood to your face and gives you a glowy look. plus it heals up blemishes. clean things that your face touches-pillowcases, phones, etc. people dont realize how dirty things are. next, you might want to steam your pores and then apply a mud mask while your face is still wet. while your pores are wide open, slather on a deep penetrating mask that will draw out oil, dirt and makeup. do this once a week. if thats to harsh for your skin. try every other week. next, exfoliate. sloughing off dead, dry skin will do wonders for your skin. i use an enzyme peel which is all natural. i order it from the shop at home network. its fabulous. lastly, your makeup is they key. use nuetragena for oily skin. it has salicyc acid in it. i cant use an spf because it makes me breakout more. but if you can go ahead. all this advice comes from someone who has had acne for over 20 years. i had to learn it all the hard way. my 17 year old son has severe cystic acne. which is way worse than mine. i do what i can for him. but he needs laser treatment. if none of this stuff works, i wont feel insulted if you go see a dermatologist. they are my last resort for my son because we cant really afford it. good luck.
Try starting out with a daily washing routine, using a mild soap, then toner.and moisturize your face. Sometimes what you eat also causes achne. Drink a moderate amount of water. I use Dove, soap, then a mild astringant. then follow it with a moisturizer. If that doesn't work, consult a dermatologist.
Start washing your face with green Irish Spring soap, it will work. Stay away from Clinque, etc.

Great Before and After Pictures - Real People
first of all let me correct the first 2 answers....proactive is only 20 dollars and it didnt work at all for me (but it could for you), second , applying toothpaste is a myth and it actually worsens the skin.go to www.skintactix.com and to www.nomilk.com.....milk and wheat has alot to do with acne.
i heard that salt water helps. ....eating good, healthy foods, exersising and drinking plenty of water can really give you healthy ,smooth looking skin. good luck
theres really no cure for getting rid of acne, my brother used to be covered in it from 15-18 years he got treatment of the doctor but it was'nt much good. so he just let it take it's course it eventually got better.
Egg Whites not the yellow part. Take the egg whites out and mix them. put on your face for 1 hour. Then wash don't touch your face do this for a week. You will see them go away.
vitamin e, a, and zinc works to get rid of acne. what worked for me when i was a kid is actually tooth paste. try making a paste with it and water then put it on the spots. look on some herbal websites, they offer some good advice for getting rid of acne. hope this helps
1. birth control pills
2. have a baby (expensive, and not recommended if you aren't married nor old enough!)
3. several people in our family have seen a remarkable improvement when they avoid dairy products: no milk, cheese, ice cream, chocolate, etc. Hard to do, because cheese is in just about everything... but has worked for us. Use soy milk instead of regular milk.
Good old soap and warm water. The best way to eliminate acne is to keep your face clean so bacteria(acne) doesn't have a chance to start. Although washing your face several times a day with a good soap can strip it of natural oils, lotions can get into your pores and clog them up. The way I kept my face clean as a teen, was to run really hot water in the sink, take a towel and place it over my head and allow the steam from the water to penetrate the pores of my face. Then, while my pores were open, I washed really good with warm water and soap. If you take the time to do this a few times a day, I am living proof that you will have clear, glowing skin.
Maybe your best bet is to see a Dermatologist. My friend used to have extremely horrible acne whens he was about 12, and she's been seeing a dermatologist since then. I think she takes a very small dose of Tetracycline every day and it is the only thing that worked for her.
You can try rememedies such as toothpaste on the acne to help reduce the acne inflammation quickly. Also tea tree oil is a good astrigent for acne. I would recommend trying some products from St. Ives. They have some really good acne treatments I use and they do wonders.
i pop the pimples that i do have everyday. also i use proactive. for me that works and i only get a zit like every 3 months and it goes away quick. also the clean and clear astringent that's a redish color works well! just rub it on your face every morning after you wash your face and every night after you wash your face. if this is a big problem you can try talking to your doctor about going on an acne clearing medicine. a few freinds used it and now there skin is soo clear and also they do something with the skin that dyes it so it clears all the scars.
