I used to have it really bad and used about every product there is to get rid of it. They didn't work. So I went to the doctors with it, they gave me some tablets for it and now it is almost gone. It had nothing to do with hygiene or my face not being clean. So I just take the tablets and use freederm. I now almost have clear skin. But the tablets are a long term treatment.
';) hope I helpedWhat is the best acne treatment to get rid of persistent acne?

What to buy:
- a luffa sponge (you can find this at Fred Meyer)
- a bottle of Tea Tree Oil (this can be found at Target)
- cotton rounds or cloths to apply products
- a non- oil shower gel (preferrably something with ';scrubbing beads';)
- clean and clear daily facial moisterising lotion (find this at any drug store)
1) When you do your daily shower, apply the shower gel to your face and scrub in a gentle circular motion with the luffa sponge (you can scrub more vigirously once your face becomes clearer)
2) COMEPLETELY rinse off your face and towel dry it
3) in the morning, apply clean and clear facial lotion to your face to ensure that your skin will sooth and not become extremely dry
4) at night, apply the tea tree oil to your face, diluted with water to the ratio of 50:50
If you have more delicate skin, you may need to use a different sponge besides the luffa, and dilute the tea tree oil more, but this process has worked WONDERS for me throughout the past years.
I had acute cystic scarring acne and nothing really worked. I still have really sensitive skin and oddly enough, the only thing that keeps it from completely breaking out is using Dove Energy Glow ';beauty bar'; on my face. It's not easy to find around here, so otherwise I use the Dove Rose (pink) bar, and I have minimal breakouts. Even the sensitive skin bar makes me break out, just like every other face product (and acne product) does. This has worked better than even topical prescription acne medications for me, so it would probably be worth a try, they're less than $4 a bar.
Hi. I used to have mild/moderate acne like your girlfriend and I tried a lot of stuff, including proactiv but that did NOT work for me. It really dried out my skin and made it all flaky. And my skin isn't even the ';sensitive'; type. I used it for around 5 months, long term, like they said you should. At first it helped a little, but then i broke out even worse then before :b/ Also that made my cystic acne (the painful type your gf probably has) even worse. but then i came to a site called Acne.org and went on the message boards, and toooons of people had success trying their product. (plus that site has a lotta good discussions on acne in general) so i bought a starter kit from their site. and in less then 2 months my skin cleared up completely. Along with the starter kit, i definitely would try getting enough sleep (8 hours) and drink plenty of water. that helped a lot as well. good luck!
Ok i'll be honest, i know a fair bit about this as it runs in my family. Lukily i havnt got it but i do know a bit..
If its persistant. You should get her to go to the doctors, all of these 拢20 treatments are rubbish. I've had a few problems with skin and they are perfumed which makes it worse and mainly your just putting more chemicals on your skin which is not going to help!
Get her to go to the doctors, they will probably give her some antibiotix. Also she could try lloyds allergy cream. Althought it may not be an allergy it moisturises but it isnt sented or anything :]
I hope that helps!
Okay then,
I dont recommmend proactiv it will work for awhile and some get a immune to it.
I use zap it.
it is a kit of 4
it comes with a wash, cleanse, cream and a quick stick
for those pimples that come up over night or on the the go.
It will clear upcoming pimples and presence ance.
best to your gf and you guys.
ive been using this product called benzoyl peroxide its the only thing that has worked good for me but you have to get it in a pharmacy, with prescription. she should ask her doctor if not go to a dermatologist. ive also heard about an aspirin mask thats good for pimples.
I have been using tetrocycling (spelling?) with retanol i believe is what its called it works really good if you stick to it you get it from a dermatologist. The only bad thing is that it gets worse before it gets better.
Cut the pop-soda to zero, all the other sugar intakes and the junk food. That's the best way to go!
Proactiv, keeps it away, skin is clean, never greasy.
Pro Active. I have the exact same probelm. Pro Active helped me a lot... That would be my recommendation. :)
pro activ
The tricky part about acne is that the problem can
actually become worse if you overmedicate. That's
because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing
a boost in your skin's Sebum (oil) production. This
results in...you guessed it - more acne.
So what's the long term solution? Find gentler
solutions or even natural acne cures that won't
shock your body into more breakouts.
Here's what I recommend...
Glycerin based facewash:
Glycerin is gentler and will balance the
pH levels in your skin.
Antibacterial Soap:
For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap
to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry,
switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to
counterbalance the effect.
Don't Overwash:
Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently
pat dry with a towel.
Moisterize:
Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based
face wash drys you out too much. I like using
Aveeno moisterizers personally.
Change Your Diet:
Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid
excess sugar intake. Food really does make a difference.
This is because the food you put into your body has a
direct effect on your Sebum (oil) production. By eating
the right foods, you'll minimize oily skin, thereby
preventing breakouts.
Egg Whites:
If acne medication isn't working or causing new breakouts,
try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed.
This natural remedy works by gently drying out the clogged
pores and clearing up the pimple.
Oatmeal Masks:
One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an
';oatmeal mask';. The oatmeal with smooth your skin while
simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.
Try this for a few days straight. Wear the oatmeal mask
for 10 minutes, then wash off. You'll have a nice
glowing complexion right after.
Lemon Juice:
Lemon juice also dries up pimples and kills any bacteria
in the infection. The citric acid also balances your skin's
pH levels to prevent future breakouts.
Honey:
Yes, despite your initial beliefs, honey is FANTASTIC for
skin care. Actually, you may notice on many moisterizers
that honey is an ingredient. Much like the lemon solution
above, honey balances the skins pH levels. Test out this
sticky remedy by dabbing pimples with honey and leaving it
on for 5-10 minutes. You can apply full honey masks to your
face but I prefer the oatmeal masks instead.
They're less messy.
